The Tailor of Panama

Pierce Brosnan, Jaimie Lee Curtis, and Geoffrey Rush star in this movie about a British spy going to Panama where he meets a Tailor who spins a web of lies that leads to The Americans invading Panama to take back the Canal. On the surface, this movie sounded like it might be a good movie, Brosnan usually does an excellent job in his movies, and they rarely turn out to be a flop, and when another week went by that Best Buy and Fry's didn't have any of the good new releases I thought I would give it a try. Let me...

The Departed

Leonardo DeCaprio stars as a Rookie Cop who's been recruited to help bring down mob boss Frank Costello (Jack Nicholson), while at the same time trying to avoid being found out. This is an EXCELLENT movie, and well worth seeing, and having in your collection.  You cannot go wrong with Jack Nicolson or Leanardo DeCaprio, and having them both in the same movie is a sure winner.

The Marine

John Cena stars in this movie about a Marine discharged from the Iraq war who is trying to readjust to life stateside.  While on a road trip his wife is kidnapped by a group of bank robbers, and he is forced into a chase to save his wife. This is a good action movie to have when company comes over, its got some good one liners, and it's full of mindless shooting, and trying to kill this Marine. I saw this at the theater, and when it was released on DVD I had to buy it, but I won't open it until...

Blue Thunder

I just finished watching Blue Thunder (1983) on ShowTime, and thought hey, it's a movie, I can post something about it here. Roy Schneider does an excellent job in this movie, where he plays Frank Murphy, a Police Helicopter pilot who's given the chance to pilot a new hi-tech police gunship.  During the course of the movie he finds out that there are people that have a better idea of what this gunships firepower could be used for. The aerial shots in this movie are excellent, you an tell they were done in an actual helicopter, and not on a computer.  The...

Breach

Well I was just sitting here planning out todays geek trip, deciding what I need, and where I should consider getting it.  And since every geek trip involves seeing a movie, this one Will the Breach. So Breach starts at the Legacy Theater at 10:55, my plans are to see the movie at The Legacy, and then round out my day by buying another external hard drive for storage on my laptop.  I'm contemplating getting the one HP sells for the docking station, and then upgrading it to something a little bigger. Chris Cooper and Ryan Phillippe do such a  good job...

Well it's Saturday morning, and

It's Saturday morning, and I haven't even planned out my weekly Geek trip, but I'm pretty sure that it won't involve buying any movies at Fry's or at Best Buy.  I've gotten pretty tired of walking in hoping to get one of the new releases for the week, and finding that they don't have them in stock, nothings been more disappointing in my life than that has been the past few weeks. I read yesterday that Time Warner has announced that they are going to be releasing an HD Disc that combines both Blu-Ray and HD-DVD later this year.  I think...
